about

The Complexity of Simple is the fourth full-length Artificial Waves studio album. Band members say “One of the difficult things in many areas of human activity from daily affairs to science is to make complex seem easy. Nature is the best in making complex to seem simple so each track in this album is dedicated to some natural phenomenon from a Morning Twilight to a Northern Lights”.

The Complexity of Simple includes seven tracks. The album starts with atmospheric intro Premonition followed by the riff based Northern Lights and continues with Decompression – post-rock waltz with a small choral part in the middle of the track. Rhythmic, but at the same time atmospheric track Cutting a Mobius Strip is followed by melodic and melancholic Whale Noises and Morning Twilight. The album ends with a track called Watching the Stars which includes soft guitar tremolos, heavy sludgy reef and a blues solo that leads the track to fast beat melody.

All Complexity of Simple material was self-recorded and produced. As usual for Artificial Waves music besides guitars all tracks include electronics, piano and strings making overall sound deeper and adding details so every time you listen to it, new things are coming up.
